Abstract

Fifty-two patients who had acetabular fractures were treated. Thirty-two patients were treated by supracondylar traction. On the other hand twenty patients were treated by open reduction and internal fixation. 44 fractures were a result of a motor-vehicle accident, 3 occured in a fall, 3 occured after collapse of a buildings and 2 occured from the other reasons. The youngest patient was 12, and the oldest was 84 years old. The patients in the surgical group were treated with open reduction and internal fixation with Kocher-Langenbeck approach. Plates, screws and wire were used for fixation. It was seen that 22 patients had concentric reduction, 24 had satisfactory reduction and 6 had unsatisfactory reduction. The patients were followed for 12-102 months. 38 (73%) patients had satisfactory and 14 (27%) had unsatisfactory results. Various complications were seen in eight patients.
