Complications In Microvascular Surgery

Abstract

Deciding where to put the boundaries on a discussion of complications in microvascular surgery was not without its difficulties. What should be included and what should be left out? Complications are not a popular topic of discussion among surgeons who, naturally and for many reasons, would rather keep their not-so-successful results hidden from general view. The subject should be seriously investigated, although to confess the existence of complications is quite difficult for every surgeon. Therefore we aimed to write this collectanea that investigate anatomical, physiologic and pathophysiologic aspects of the microvascular complications.
