Abstract
The trapeziometacarpal joint is both anatomically and functionally a special joint. It has a particular importance in function of the hand, especially pinch and grip. Different diagnostic and thereupatic techniques have been described for trapeziometacarpal joint problems. Six females and 1 male, 7 patients who admitted to our hospital and were previously treated by conservative methods underwent surgical treatment. Mean follow-up was 15.6 months (range, 10-22 months). There were no hyperextension of the thumb, subluxation, weakening and pain in any patient, postoperatively. All patients have expressed satisfaction. We aimed that to give our results and to review the recent techniques published in the literature.
