Abstract
We report the results of total contact casting (TCC) in Wagner grade 1,2 and 3 in diabetic ulcers. in a cohort study. Treatment protocol consisted of one debridment and TCC by one or two weeks intervals up to ulcer healing. Then modified charcot restrained orthotic walker (CROW) was applied and the patients were then followed up by two or four weeks intervals. By this protocol 11 (12 feet) out of 13 patients healed and recurrence was detected in one. We conclude that TCC followed by modified CROW is an effective treatment protocol for diabetic foot ulcers.
