Abstract
The objectives of the prosthetic fitting in children with congenital limb deficiency were preventing contractures, providing early functional ambulation, improving the body image and social participation. The patient who was 16 years old underwent an assessment programme including type of the deformity, muscle strength and shorthening, range of motion, functional level, family history and pregnancy history of the mother. Proximal phocomelia in left lower limb and longitudinal limb deficiency in right lower limb were determined. We can conclude that our patient who has been dependent to wheelchair for 16 years, could be able to walk independently and perform ambulation activities using canadian crutches after four weeks rehabilitation programme.
