Abstract
There are two conceps for successful prosthetic applications in congenital amputees. The first one is that acceptance of the prosthesis is easier in congenital amputes compared to others, for this group the treament period is short. The second is that, success of prosthetic applications diminishes as the patients get older. The type of prosthesis is very important in congenital extremity deficiencies. A study was undertaken in Prosthetics and Biomechanics Unit of Physiotherapy and Rehabilitations School, in order to evaluate the level and site of the amputation, age, sex, type of the prosthesis and the treatment period.
