Abstract

Hypertrophic callus formation can be encountered in patients with cranial and central nervous system traumas. These formations generally occur at para articular regions. This pathological condition called heterotopic ossification is unpredictable and leads to catastrophic results we have reviewed three patients with heterotopic ossification who had complete loss range of motion in their lower extremities. All three patients had cranial and central nervous system traumas and were rehabilitated with forced passive exercizes.
