Journal of Sports Science and Medicine (JSSM) is a non-profit making scientific electronic journal, publishing research and review articles, together with case studies, in the fields of sports medicine and the exercise sciences. JSSM is published quarterly in March, June, September and December. JSSM also publishes editorials, a "letter to the editor" section, abstracts from international and national congresses, panel meetings, conferences and symposia, and can function as an open discussion forum on significant issues of current interest. The journal content could be presented not only in print (pdf format) but also through the use of video, audio and interactive software since it is published in an electronic format. Authors, therefore, are encouraged to submit their article or communication in the most appropriate medium to best convey their findings to members of JSSM. JSSM can be reached at www.jssm.org.

The European Congress of Sports Medicine will take place in Hasselt, Belgium, May 14-16, 2003. The deadline for abstract submission is 30 November 2002. Best Research Award

The Turkish Joint Diseases Foundation will give $1000 award for the best clinical or experimental research study that will appear in the journal in the year of 1999. Applicants need to send a letter to:

Applicants need to be Turkish Citizen. The board of directors of the foundation will inform the winner at the end of each year and the award will be presented at the Annual Meeting of the Turkish Society of Orthopaedic Surgery and Traumatology every two years.

Papers in English will appear in electronic form as full-text
